It is great privilege for our University to organize an International Virtual Conference on Information Retrieval on Scientific Literature: Emerging Frontiers and Challenges IRSL-2014 going to be held on June 10-11, 2014 in MMU Mullana- Ambala, India.

The main theme of IRSL-2014 is “Innovative Approaches towards Information Storage and Retrieval: A State-of-Art Gateway to revolutionize the Next Generation Professionals". Course content of the conference is designed to provide a comprehensive and structured exposure to Information Retrieval and Virtual Technology environment.

The main feature of this conference is that the participants, speakers and other Advisory Members need not to present physically, they can attend the conference while sitting on their seats/destinations only. If in any case somebody is not available for sometime during the conference, they can login later on also.

Second Semester Students of Department of Library and Information Science , Assam University, Silchar bid Farewell to Fourth Semester Students on April 18, 2014

The Second Semester Students of Library and Information Science, Assam University, Silchar have given Farewell to their Seniors (Fourth Semester Students ) on April 18, 2014. On this occasion , Dr. Manoj Kumar Sinha, Associate Professor & Head of the Department, D in his address call upon the outgoing students and also to Second Semester students to do better in their life and excel in the area of Librarianship. He wishes all of  them for their successful bright career ahead. 

Dr. Mukut Sarmah, Asst Professor, Sri Nabin Chandra Dey, Asst Professor and Ms Chanda Dey, Guest Faculty  also addressed to the students and wish them for their bright future and also remind them to remember us wherever you work and do contact us in case  of any problems and also share your good thing and happiness with us.

On this occasion students presented cultural programme . The programme finished with refreshment and lunch.
